Morning Reflection

I stare into my reflection in the mirror
The morning light filtering through my window behind me
And I look at the dark colors of my face
Dark purple surrounding each eye
Shiners from my allergies that mimick black bruises
Beneath the black eyes are freckles scattered on my cheeks
Which for some reason look darker in the morning
Combined with my black eyes,
It looks like my long sleep as given me a beating
My upper lip is dark with facial hair
As are the edges of my jaw, the bottom of my chin,
And my neck

I look at my eyes, and for a brief moment
The two eyes looking back at me scare me
My normally light blue eyes are a darker shade
And they stare right back at me with strange malice
Like two angry stones cemented into a dark face
A face that's usually very light and pale
Although it isn't exactly tan at the moment
More like a darker shade of white
Or a canvas of white that has been speckled
With dark dots of brown
Streaked with purple and dashed with black
And gently smeared with sapphire
